James Hodgkinson came up with the idea of shooting at a few Republicans, and it got him killed. It’s sad how some people think they have the power to take someone’s life just because that person doesn’t fit their political criteria. Scalise was severely injured in the shooting, but he survived. Now the hospital came with a special statement on his condition.
“Congressman Steve Scalise continues to make good progress. He is now listed in fair condition and is beginning an extended period of healing and rehabilitation,” said Scalise’s doctors at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.
It’s good to hear that his condition has upgraded from serious to fair. Scalise was shot during a practice for the annual congressional charity baseball game. But, Hodgkinson wasn’t interested in the charity. He just wanted those Republicans dead. But, it turns out that his own rock hit him in the head.
“Upgrade on the condition of Majority Whip Steve Scalise, courtesy of @MedStarWHC,” tweeted Scalise, providing an abstract from his doctors’ statement.

Scalise was brought to the hospital in critical condition which was upgraded to serious on Saturday. Dr. Jack Sava said that there was an “imminent risk of death. The Republican was shot in the hip, and the bullet found its way right through the pelvis. It fractured bones, injured internal organs, and caused severe bleeding, as confirmed by doctors at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.
“He underwent immediate surgery, and an additional procedure to stop bleeding. He has received multiple units of blood transfusion,” doctors explained. Scalise won’t have trouble walking. At least that’s what doctors hope for.
Vice President Mike Pence and other congressmen took part in the blood drive to support the victims of the shooting.
What do you think about this? Do you think Scalise will have permanent “consequences” of the shooting?
