The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on his first official visit of the White House since President Donald Trump was inaugurated. Reporters across the country wrote a lot about the first meeting between President Trump and Modi. President Trump honored Modi with a nice dinner at the White House, but reporters weren’t allowed in. The Indian Prime Minister is the first foreign dignitary to have dinner with President Trump at the White House.
President Trump made a joke about his and Modi’s appearance in social media, saying they’re “world leaders in social media.” The joint news statement was a fitting introduction to the Oval Office meeting and the official dinner.
President Trump used the opportunity to congratulate Modi for leading the country towards great economic prosperity. “Economically, India is doing very well,” President Trump said.
Modi announced several major topics, and mentioned the President’s visit to India before the elections. The Indian Prime Minister hopes for a good collaboration with our President.
